Romanian Bridal Traditions

A bride is one of the few days when romanian individuals really go all out and clothing up. Fancy suit for men, dresses and gowns for women and attired scalp and extensive nails are all the rule. The event is also a time to bring donations of money and provides for the bride and groom, which they collect as they leave the church and meal greeting.

After the pie is served a specific waltz known as „hora” is performed. The wedding and all sexual customers start to waltz. Men may add but they have to pay a small sum of money and the collected quantity goes to the wedding

Close to the end of the wedding welcome a tradition is performed whereby the bride’s aunt takes off the bridal veil. The wedding is supposed to hesitate and ’ duel’ against it ( three occasions at least ) and then she is lastly allowed to take off the headscarf. This is to symbolise the shift from a woman to a married lady who will take care of her father and upcoming children.

If you are invited to a romanian bride you can expect a pretty much evening of dancing and consuming. It is not unusual for the gathering to last up to 10 hours and there are generally 4 training plus dessert. It is very important to wear comfortable shoes as there will be a lot of dancers and a lot of food and drinks served. There may be special events during the gathering to such as the single lady who catches the bridal bouquet and the separately dude who catches the lace.
