Marriage Guest List Etiquette

Wedding guest listing decorum varies extensively, but a general concept is that „whoever pays gets a say”. That means that if your kids or your prospect in- laws are contributing to the marriage, they have some levels of reject authority over the last guest count. Some couples come up with a target number for the whole wedding and split it into thirds- one next for their friends and family, one second for each partner’s family to ask whomever they want, and another next for guests to bring a plus- one.

Begin with the definites/non- negotiables ( or A- record, or your may- invite group ). These are people who you would be disappointed to not have at your wedding. For some couples, this is their immediate family, or close friends, for individuals, it may be extended household like aunts, uncles and primary relatives.

Following, consider if anyone who gave you a product needs to be invited. While it’s wonderful to remain remembered by your friends and family, a thank- you note is normally ample.

Next look at the rest of your checklist. Do you have room for everyone on your desire list, or is it day to lean the B- roster? This is the time to be honest with yourself, and if you ca n’t accommodate everyone on your list due to budget or venue space limitations, it’s best to save that spot for someone else.
